Got my Osprey 10 - 40x50 mm Long Range Tactical Scope

The darn thing was only $129 bucks so I figured let's give it a try.

Let me just say for starters the thing is HUGE, and I weighed it and it's 2 pounds a 2 5/8 ounces with the rings. However, it seems very well built and sturdy, the glass is made in Japan, and I was messing around with it just looking around in the neighborhood and it's extremely clear.

Once I get the XCR I'll give it a good shake down, but from my reading, the Osprey's are all rated up to 50 caliber. Hell I'll probably put it on the FAL, and put the 3 - 9x30 on the XCR because the FAL already weighs a fricken ton.

Yes it can, but I pulled it out and it's a Lithium Coin Battery CR2032, seems to run about $5 bucks a pop....

Do the mounts come with it?

I am really surprised by that low price. I may have to get one for my stag. It is worth 129 bucks to have as a backup scope.

Mounts do come with it, like I said, it's one heavy mother, but at $129 I don't think you can go wrong. I've owned a Leupold scope, they're about 10 times more expensive, and I don't see the value in the difference.... :ok:

CR2032 is the same battery that powers the bios on your pc motherboard.

They are available at Wally World for about $2.

That is one big scope!

I am sorry, but I find it amusing that one would put a $129 piece of glass on a rifle meant to protect their life. Maybe if you want your kid to have something to shoot squirrels with, but is this going on a real gun?

Hell, nevermind. I guess it's better than nothing. I should shut up now. :)
